Whitebinder
The Trüby Trio only put out one album, ELEVATOR MUSIC, but it's jazz-lounge feel emerges right from the intro "The Rhythm Part One." Soul is the order of the day on "Universal Love," but the jazz comes back full force with "New Music." There are hints of Afro-jazz too, with the electro-tinged "Runnin'," but the guitar chords of "Jaleo" take us instead to Spain, and "Alegre 2003" to Brazil. "A Festa" breaks out the breaks, and "Make a Move" bridges the three continents (Europe, South America, and Africa) together. "A Go Go" is pure upbeat conga-lounge fun, and "Bad Luck" and "Lover Uncovered" bring things down for a R&B spell, though the latter picks up halfway through. Elevator music? Far from it!
