Tojahn
I agree with the previous reviewer regarding the flip side. Crowds is the real highlight here and its such a wonderful fuck you to the goth crowds and adoring fans - simply priceless! Whilst covering T Rex may have been a little too obvious (goth does glam), the more inspired cover is John Cale's Rosegarden Funeral of Sores. Cale's original can only be found on the B-side of Mercenaries ('80) and a live version eventually appeared on Sabotage / Live. Whilst Cale's original is superior, this cover is highly worthy. Bauhaus also did a live version on Press the Eject & Give Me the Tape. I think its quite nice symmetry that they did their own B-side and live version just like John Cale did. Although admittedly the live Cale version only appeared as a bonus track on a CD reissue of Sabotage many years later.
Lost Python
Unlike their cover of Ziggy Stardust, this cover of Telegram Sam is a new take on the original. I bought this when it came out just for the T Rex connection, however, the stand out track for me is Crowds and well worth having this vinyl just for that track.
