The Upsetters 'Chim Cherie' is about crucial as it gets, as it marks a pivotal moment in Jamaican music - the first use of a drum machine. Programmed by Aston 'Familyman' Barrett and Carlton Barrett, the drums were incorporated by Lee perry into The Upsetters version of 'Billie Jean'. As with so many other innovations from 1970's Jamaican studios, 'Chim Cherie' contains the roots of much of the electronic dance music we have today.
